Many Android phones support removable SD card to extend phone storage, and the phone with SD card might ship with less internal storage. If you saved bunch of data on internal memory, the less internal storage can make Android phone running slowly. So it’s wise to move some data from internal storage to SD card, such as the apps. And this article is here to show you how to move apps from internal memory to SD card.
Before we started, you should be noted that not all Android phone allows you to do this, since many Android phone has its own customized system, like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oneplus, etc. Moreover, the steps may be a little different from yours, but generally, they are almost alike. Let’s check it out.
Step 1.
Open Settings on your phone, you can find it within your app drawer. And find Applications or Application Manager, according to your phone model. It might even under More Settings menu on some Android phone settings.
Step 2.
There would be some categories showed, on my Vivo phone, it displayed as Installed, Running, All, Movable Apps, etc. Simply select Movable Apps, the apps under this category are the ones allowed to be move to SD card from internal memory. Tap on an app, scroll down until you found Move to SD card option, then tap it. If your Android phone doesn’t have a Movable Apps category, you can simply tap each app to find whether it can be moved.
Tips.
As you can see from the screenshot, there is an Preferred install location option on my Android phone, simply change it to SD Card. Then when you installed a new app next time, it will be installed on SD card preferentially.
