Sometimes you may need to activate the DFU mode on your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus for some certain reasons, and since iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus have no physical home button there, the new designed home button now only gives you feedback vibrations when your iPhone 7 is on. So there are some differences on how to activate DFU mode on iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus compared with its predecessor, and here is how:
- Firstly, turn off your iPhone 7 if it’s on, and connect it to your computer with a USB cable and launch iTunes.
- Press on the power button lasting for about 3 seconds, then press the lower volume button with the power button still held down, and keep holding both buttons for about 10 seconds.
- Release the power button while keep holding the lower volume button for 5 seconds, then there would be a pop-up window on your computer to prompt that you’ve activated DFU mode on your iPhone 7: “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.”
Tips: During the process, once you saw the Apple logo displayed on your iPhone or a plug into iTunes prompt on your computer, which means you may held the button for too long, you need a another try.
